@Zac hopefully its short term pain for long term gain. The site has suffered since I introduced the .com.au address because links have split between that and the .typepad address. Collectively we have a lot more Technorati authority than what is currently showing.

As for SEO and history we are doing our best to transfer all old content as seamlessly as possible. Will be a good test for our self-proclaimed SEO prowess.

Hey Craig, welcome to the WP platform! Aside from the constant 'updates' that make me nuts, it's been pretty stable for me at Shaping Youth. Technorati, however has been a wild card; so I try not to eyeball rankings too much, as I go from 27K down to 65K in a 24-hr. period, which makes no sense...btw, How do I get to add a one-liner in your blogroll like your other AOC peeps? heehe ;-)

If you want people to visit the new web address make the URL in your message a hyperlink so people can just click. Copy and paste is easy but making a one-click exercise to visit the new website is easier. :)
